| General Overview | Analytical and calculating, Razant always keeps one eye open. Those that mistake his languid demeanor for negligence will quickly and painfully find themselves regretting their error. Razant prides himself on his legendary patience. His background in Xenoanthropology often comes in handy when it comes to discerning the motivations of the criminal mind, regardless of species. The thin Reman can often be found sitting in the brig, interviewing his detainees off-duty. His heart aches for his people, an enslaved race devastated by the Hobus Supernova. He has joined Starfleet to foster goodwill between his race and the UFP. If the Remans were to join the Federation one day, it would go a long way in improving the average Reman’s quality of life – or so he hopes. |

| Personal History | Razant is born in the dilithium mines of Remus in 2368. His father is crushed by a cave-in when he is two years old and is taken from his mother by the Tal Shiar three years later. Their names are never made known to him. His analytical mind shows a promising aptitude for engineering and he is enslaved to work as an engineer at a secret facility designed to incorporate Borg technology into Tal Shiar ships and equipment. The facility is overrun during a Reman coup of the Romulan government in 2379 and Razant is freed from his oppressors. Most of his adolescent years are spent serving aboard a Nausicaan smuggling vessel as their assistant chief engineer. In 2383, his vessel is destroyed by the Klingon Defense Force. Most of his friends are captured, and he narrowly escapes with his life. With his friends gone and his family presumed dead, he turns his attention to Starfleet. He sends a letter directly to the president of the Federation, explaining his experiences and his hopes for the Reman people in 2385. After a series of detailed interviews, the president personally writes a Starfleet Academy commendation for Razant. Commendation in hand, Razant is accepted into Starfleet Academy in 2387. | |
