ON:

Fox groaned as she came around. Realisation was slow as her eyes focused on the back wall. She tried to move but everything ached. She rolled over slowly and lay on her back for a moment, blinking. She was still not 100% sure where she was, but she had a good idea.

On the other side of the forcefield, the crewman who was on duty in the brig tapped his comm badge. "Brig to Ensign Leighton. The prisoner is awake."

"On my way," Gwen responded before closing the channel. Taking her feet down off the chair they'd been resting on she promptly stood, straightened her uniform and hustled to the brig. A few silent travelling moments later the doors whoosed open and she entered. Making her way to the holding cell Gwen gave her a quick once over before asking, "Hungry? Thirsty?"

Her eyes finally focused when she heard the voice and she rolled over. "I must say I'm not a fan of my new quarters. Yes, I'll take a 3-course meal and a bottle of wine please." She stood up and walked towards the force field. She reached out her hand and the force field sizzled on. She let out a snort of contempt "In a proper brig, that would have killed me."

"That's not how it works here," Gwen pulled a chair over and sat down, "So, let's cut the crap. Obviously you're teaming with sarcasm and posses little to no care for your life. So can we skip that part where I try barter or talk to your light side? How about instead, you tell me as much as you want to. Wastes less time for us both."

Fox smiled at her sarcastically "What? No small talk? To chit chat? That's the problem these days, no one enjoys a really good interrogation. It's a lost art." She sighed as she reminisced "No breaking kneecaps with hypospanners, no acid drips on bare skin... Though after a while those did become counterproductive. That's why an agoniser is such an efficient method of inducing pain. Those Ceti alpha 5 eels really do come in hand though, if you didn't mind the victim dying in the end." She snapped back to the present "What I want is some food. Taking over a starship can be hard work you know. It's given me quite an appetite."

Gwen rolled her eyes through the dramatic talk of acid drips and agonisers. Blah blah blah pain. Blah blah blah psychopath. The mention of food caught her attention, "Food can be done." She nodded to a fellow security member and they left to the replicator, "I enjoy getting a good puzzle solved as much as the next person and I thoroughly enjoy winning. However I don't enjoy wasting my time with someone who would simply be better off dead."

The security guard returned with a tray. Gwen checked it over and then fit it through the allotted area in the wall, "As I said though, that's not how it works over here."

Fox took the tray and sat down. “Not exactly gourmet but I suppose it will do.” She took a mouthful. “The value you place on my life is heartwarming.” She said dryly. “And it’s not exactly encouraging me to open up with someone who thinks I’m wasting oxygen by continuing to breathe so I don’t think I want to tell you anything.”

Limping her way inside, Rose stood at the back of the room watching Gwen work. She’d just been released from sickbay and although she’d been told to take it easy, right now that wasn’t going to happen.

Fox looked at the newcomer and laughed with the fork paused halfway to her mouth. “You recovered then?” She looked almost disappointed. “Pity. I was rather hoping you’d lose the leg at least. Mind you, I wanted to have you killed but.. your... beautiful and selfless First officer convinced me otherwise. Still, I suppose a short term crippling Is better than nothing.”

“You’ll have to do a lot worse to take me down coward” Rose said with a grin on her face, “though the virus was a nice touch”

Fox's eyes narrowed. "Step inside here and say that." She finished her meal and set the tray down, then stretched out on the bed with her arms folded behind her head.

Rose smiled, "if only I could, I'm sure you could show me a good time"

Fox rolled her eyes "Please! You wouldn't last two minutes. Now if you two don't mind, I'm trying to have a nap here."

her smiled widening, Rose turned Gwen, "care to lower the forcefield for a moment?"

"No." Gwen stood up, "I think we're done here. This is just going nowhere and I won't be responsible for what happens if I chose to let you at each other."

Without opening her eyes, Fox interjected "That's right, you should listen to her. She doesn't want to see you get hurt and humiliated. By the way, say hello to Aidan for me. Now, will you two be quiet? Or leave? Or both?"

Rose looked over at Fox, “is that it? Vague threats and pathetic demands? You are the most boring prisoner I’ve ever interrogated” she said, looking Fox up and down, “perhaps I should tell Aidan that you were a changeling trying to trick him, or perhaps a Tal’Shiar spy trying to worm its way into our midst”

"You want to make this personal? Fine. You want specific? How's this?" She opened her eyes and turned her head. She stared at Rose with the dead eyes of a shark. "If I ever get out of here I'm going to dedicate my life.... to ruining yours."

Rose seemed amused, "do your worst. I have suffered worse than you could possibly come up with"

Fox turned her head back to the side and closed her eyes again and muttered to herself "Challenge accepted."

Rose gave a sigh than turned to Gwen, “let’s hope she feels more cooperative after some time alone”

"I doubt it," Gwen said with a shrug, "Some people don't know what's best for them. They're just made of pure spit and vinegar." She looked to their unwelcome guest, "And that never changes."
