ON:

Amelia reported to Lieutenant Keading's office for her counseling session. Amelia didn't mind counselors but did enjoy them either.

True yawned just as her chime sounded. "Come in," she called as she stood up to greet them. She hadn't had much conversation with Ameilia except for the one session which was required when one joined a new ship. "Can I get you anything Commander? Something to eat or drink?"

Amelia smiled at her "Good morning Counsellor. A Cup of tea would be nice, thank you. May I?" She indicated to the vacant chair. She sat and took a deep breath. "So, what would you like to talk about?"

Resisting the urge to react emotionally, True spoke. "Well that's really my line. You've been through a lot lately. Where would you like to start? What happened down on the planet or what's happened on the ship while you were gone. Or, what's happened since you returned."

Accepting the cup of tea, Amelia took a sip before responding. "We knew there was a good chance that my mirror counterpart was in this universe before I was taken. in fact, the Captain and I anticipated she might try something like that. Sill, what she did while she was onboard surprised even me. She used Syvar as a plaything, controlling him through the threat of agony and then, she impregnated herself with Lieutenant Datari's DNA. She also tried to take over the ship. She is one cold, calculating, manipulative bitch.

She took a breath. "It was hard having people I know and care about looking at me like they were afraid for their lives. Syvar has reminded me on multiple occasions that I'm not her and I know that but deep down. She is me..." Her voice trailed off.

"I wouldn't say that. Even identical twins are different. You might have been made from the same mold but you've had vastly different experiences in how you were raised and what's happened to you since then. I know it's the whole nature vs. nurture argument that's been going on for centuries but you will never convince me that someone is born evil. Evil is something that happens slowly, the choices we make slowly add up. Now I'm not saying that Mirror Amelia is evil but she's definitely made a lot of wrong choices and is obviously too far gone to realize them."

Amelia nodded. "It makes me wonder what she has gone thought to make her that way. I had to completely renovate my quarters after what she did in there and now, she's expecting Aidan's child."

"She says she is. Oh she's definitely pregnant, but I'd like to wait and see what the results are before I spread around any rumors about the father. But honestly Ameilia, what concerns me is your recent relationship with Syvar since you returned from the planet. I saw him earlier. While he seems much more relaxed, I just worry he's transferring his feelings and may not have had time to process what happened."

Amelia looked at her for a moment. "She believes Aidan is the father of her child. And, as for Syvar." Her tone became a little firmer. "I know what... she did to him. Believe me, I Know. I also know that his feeling for me are not the same as his feeling for her. I want to help him and together, he is overcoming the hold she had over him."

"That's what he told me as well." It still bothered True in the back of her mind, but they weren't doing anything technically against the rules. "I would very much like to believe that. I have deemed him fit for light duty, I think he really wanted something to do to keep busy but he's not to see patients yet until we have another talk tomorrow. How are you doing with this new relationship?"

Amelia thought for a moment. "I feel... happy. When I'm with him, I feel safe and I feel loved. I know there could be a risk but, isn't that part of life? I know I want to make him feel as safe and as loved as he makes me feel." She sighed "He's rather unique, isn't he? This is a big deal for me. Until now I wasn't sure that there was a right man out there for me. I've had relationships before but not like this."

"Well that's good, it's something new for both of you. I recommend you get to know each other well," It was an unspoken reminder to take things slow but True had a smile on her face. "Did you need anything else Commander?"

"I went to see Rose yesterday, to see how she was doing after she was injured on the planet. I know my counterpart ordered that attack. I was thinking that she acts in this hideous, vial manner. She violates Aidan and still, she gets the most precious gift of a child. I've never really thought about having children, I always seemed to have other priorities like my career." She took a deep breath "It just got me thinking..."

"Well there's still time for you to change your mind and have children. Are you worried that Starfleet may not be the best place to raise them?" True asked curiously, it had been on her mind as well. Her childhood had been spent on the beaches in Alaska after all.

She shook her head. "Not at all. There's everything you could want on this ship. I suppose my career is in a stable enough position. I suppose I've got to decide what is important. And you're right, there is still time. Thank you for listening to my problems True."

"Of course, it's my job," True grinned. "It's really good to have you back, the real you."

"It's good to be back." Amelia agreed. "You should come round for dinner sometime. I'm sure I can ruslte up something you'd enjoy. Do you have any faviourites?"

"Oh, well that would be lovely. Maybe we could make it a double date? I'm really not picky to be honest. I'm sure whatever you fixed would be lovely."

"Tha's very kind of you to say. I picked up one or two tricks from my father who ran a restaurant in Austin so I'm sure I can come up with something you'll like. A double date sounds wonderful. I'll let you know when I;m available and we can sort out a time. I'm making a meal for Syvar this evening. He deserves it."

Amelia rose. "I'll see you later."

"Have a good evening." True responded as she watched her leave. She slumped back down on the couch and marveled about what a weird day it had been.
