ON:

Ron was feeling more nervous and giddy as he was walking with his picnic. As he got closer to where this date was to be he passed one of the aliens they had rescued.

He had surprised himself allowing him to talk him into trying some of his tea. Apparently it would calm him down and give him some natural confidence. Ron normally wouldn't try anything like this, tea okay could be calming but the extend of that guys sale was more hocus pocus in his head .... but Natasha was the most amazing woman and one he didn't want to mess things up with.

So if it could keep him calm so he didn't bumble up, he did a quick detour to the medusas head for some hot water and chugged it down.

Then something amazing happened. He actually did feel better. He almost had a swagger when he walked into the arboretum. She was there first. And wow what a vision.

"Good evening Natasha. You look wonderful," he said.

Natasha was in a red dress, it matching the clip Ron had returned to her. She turned from gazing at a white flower that was blooming, the skirt billowing out slightly when she faced Ron. Her ebony hair was loose, its silken locks curling gently. Her heart raced when she saw the man whom she adored. She was mesmerized by how he looked and the fine figure he cut. He was rather handsome, also something was different, the way he was standing. Natasha smiled, he seemed like he had gained some confidence.

"Thank you Ron, and you are very handsome." Natasha replied softly, a warm welcoming smile.

Ron leant forward and kissed her on the cheek. Where had that come from? He cleared his throat. "This is for you," he presented her with a rose.

A red rose! "Why thank you, Ron, it is beautiful" her cheeks going pink when Ron kissed her. "Its a lovely evening." Natasha added, "I am glad you were wanting to ask me out."

"I wanted to for a long time. I didn't believe I was worthy," he said honestly. "But now ...." he took her hand boldly. "I want to make you happy. Spend every day just making you happy if you will let me do that. You were this beautiful woman, an amazing XO .... and fate ... its been cruel losing our ship. Our prior life .... but the one thing that's come out of it that's wonderful is well you Natasha."

Natasha's skin prickled up with goosebumps, feeling herself become mesmerized by Ron's words, the man was showing the dynamic side of him that she had seen in him. She tried to speak, but no words came forth. For the moment Natasha could only smile. She reached out to caress his cheek, and gazed lovingly into Ron's eyes.

Then words came to her mind, "I have always thought you worthy Ron, handsome, charming. I did notice you back when on our ship. You were so gentle, and shy. I didn't want to scare you." Natasha's eyes sparkling. "If you do want me and want to spend time with me, I am willing. Very willing, Ron."

Ron beamed. "I made a picnic. I remember seeing you eat this cheese at one of Captain Keading's receptions," he said pulling food out his basket. "And bread rolls. According to rumours on this ship this is the bread of champions - Kimden rolls. It must be some betaziod craze. The Captain is obsessed apparently. Fruits, meats and I tried to bake ...." he pulled out some muffins that had clearly inflated but he had attempted to decorate them. "And champagne. Because you deserve the very best."

Natasha was taken aback and very impressed. This personal touch and the fact that he had noticed what sort of cheese she liked. "Ron, this is amazing." taking seat on the blanket he had spread out for them to sit upon. "I- I love this. And I do love kimden rolls as well." looking at all the items he had brought. "This is such a treat." Natasha had stars in her eyes as she gazed at Ron. "and it smells really good." of any man whom had tried to romance her, Ron's efforts just blew all of any other man's efforts to smithereens. At this moment she really wanted to kiss Ron, heartfelt kiss on his lips. She though didn't want to scare him like earlier.

Ron smiled. He would like to deepen the kiss but he wanted her to enjoy the picnic first. Feeling like a million pieces of Latinum he popped the cork on the bottle, managing to not kill a plant with the cork flying or shower either of them in the contents at the same time. Pouring her a glass, then his own he clinked it to hers. He hadn't bumbled. Maybe this tea really was something.

"To new beginnings," he said gently.

Natasha smiled, "Most definitely, to new beginnings." Taking a sip of the champagne. She then picked up one of the muffins and took a bite. Besides the taste of his lips and the champagne, she wanted to taste what he had decorated first. It tasted good to her. "This is delicious Ron." then took another bite. "Very good." a little bit of the frosting still upon her lips.

"You have ... " Ron found himself inching closer ... "A little something ....." he moved his finger to wipe off the additional frosting. Then found himself pulling her close deciding to kiss it off instead.

Natasha's eyes flared open then closed, as she deepened the kiss. Running her hand in his hair then placing the muffin down so she could use the other hand to do so as well. She pulled back only slightly to catch her breath, as she opened her eyes once more to look deeply into his. "Wow what a kiss." smiling. Whatever it was going on with Ron, he was really setting her on fire.

"Maybe we should move this picnic. Somewhere private, because truthfully Natasha I want to do that again," he said. Did those words just come out of his mouth? ...." he found himself stunned. Yes it was too late he had said it and the next words came out of his mouth too as he saw the transition begin

"The rose just started blooming look .." he pointed over at the moon flower gently moving her round so she wouldn't miss it.

Was it a sign? he wondered.

Natasha gasped out in awe as she watched the moon flower come into full bloom, snuggling up against Ron. "That is beautiful." she breathed out softly, "I agree, love. I would love to experience another kiss from you." And the blooming of that moon flower, witnessing this with him, she felt this was taking things to a whole new level, filling this evening with magic.

Ron packed up the picnic in record time and to both their surprise especially his own in terms of body strength, suddenly picked Natasha up and carried her out of there like a honeymooner over a doorway. He mentally calculated when the next generation of moon flowers would be ready so he could definitely bring her again.

When they arrived at his quarters, which Natasha was still all amazed at what had happened. The door whooshed open and there they were, just him and Natasha and the picnic basket. "Ron would you like to put me down now?" she softly whispered. Not minding being in his arms, but she was slightly worried.

"Yes," he said softly taking her into his bedroom and placing her delicately on the bed.

Her eyes were wide, when Ron placed Natasha upon the bed. He was so... confident, so different. Whatever happened to him between now and earlier. She was still wondering about that but... here he was, and here she was. Natasha's heart leaped with joy, she was also feeling like she was slightly drunk, and it was probably due to her natural high.

Though for some reason Natasha decided to ask Ron this. "Ron are you certain you wish this?" remembering her trying this previously, and he wasn't ready for that. If he had second thoughts it would be fine. If he still wished this she was willing to be with him. It was all up to him for the final wish, his desire.

Her answer was an even bolder kiss followed by "I want to be with you."
