M'tara had been deep into her research, working on an ointment she was making from one of the herbs she had cultivated. She had lost track of time and stepped out to see if C'Tora was around. M'tara brushed back her pure white hair, her emerald green eyes peering about. "Oh I must have missed C'Tora or he is busy with something else" she mused to herself. M'tara was a caitian with pure white fur, with emerald green eyes. She and C'Tora when they were together made quite the impression, with his jet black fur, both having emerald green matching eyes. With C'tora maybe in a meeting, she walked around to see if Syvar were around. It has been awhile since she talked to her green eyed furless twin.

M'tara lightly stepped into sickbay and looked to see whom was about. Her nose caught the scent of someone new here.

"Hello, is Syvar here?" M'tara asked this new person.

"Hey... Lieutenant Higgins, but everyone calls me Cassy... Well, apart from Doctor C'Tora... He still thinks I'm called Emily for some reason but I don't mind, its endearing!"

The bubbly blond chuckled nervously noticing the striking eyes and the fangs that the feline female flashed during her introduction. "Your the first Ciartrian... Citrian... Oh, I know this!"

"Caitian," Syvar supplied helpfully as he approached, an amused sparkle in his equally green eyes. Which was an unusual sight in a Vulcan, especially one who wore his emotions on his sleeve. "You were looking for me?" he queried, looking at them both.

"Um, C'Tora is Caitian as well. He is black while I am white and he is much taller than I." M'tarra said with amusement. "He is my mate. And yes I was looking for you, Syvar. And well am not above meeting new people." her whiskers twitching slightly. "Have either of you had lunch?"

"Yin and Yang," Syvar grinned, his geen eyes sparkling even brighter in clear amusement. "No I haven't had lunch yet, I've been really busy."

"Lunch... Is it that time already?"
Cassy had been so collected up in her work that she had completely lost track of the time. Her research was still on going into the field of Deep Space PTSD Syndrome and many of her case work subjects on Earth had been veterans of the Dominion War. It was taking a great deal of time to collate the information into a working paper for publish.

"Yes it is, I am fancying some fish, so am looking forward that. Maybe even a surf and turf? Minus the potato though" M'Tarra giving a feline grin. "Potatoes just don't seem to agree with me." looking at both Syvar and Cassy.

"Some pan friend catfish on a bed of spinach, carrot ribbons, courgette and pomegranate seeds does sound very appealing right now!" Cassy placed her PADD down, knowing she really shouldn't have been working on it while on duty but having said that there was very little else to do. "I'm in!"

Syvar frowned. "I hope you don't mind if I stick to vegetarian? I do occasionally consume meat, but it doesn't have my preference and it makes me feel unwell. I do like spinach however, with pasta and a cream sauce."

M'Tarra turned her gaze to Syvar, "I don't mind, and I do love the scent of that dish. I've had it before. It is quite tasty." she shifted her attention back to Cassandra. "I am pleased you are joining us. And I am looking forward to lunch, shall we go?"

"Lets... I think we could all do with a break after what happened" she looked over to the biobed at the far side of sickbay, a single figure resting on it looking peaceful despite the horror she had lived through. "Has the Doctor been able to figure out if she might wake up?"

Syvar's expression changed, his eyes taking on a note of sadness, their brightness dimming just a fraction. "No ma'am..." He faltered, sighing softly. "We don't know if, or even when, she'll wake up. But we're doing the best we can to make her comfortable." He bit his lower lip. "Maybe having telepaths sit with her might help? I don't know how aware she is ma'am... I've no experience with comatose patients, and i can only speak for my self when relating to an unconscious state of being. I don't recall hearing anyone when I was rendered to such a state."

M'tara looked over towards the woman upon the biobed. "I do hope she will wake up." giving a bit of a sigh. "Maybe mother can recommend someone on Starbase 308, they have wonderful facilities. And may be able to help her out." definitely feeling concerned, not only for Xu but also C'Tora, Syvar and Cassandra. "Come time to take a step away and clear your minds." M'tarra leading the way to the turbolift.

Syvar nodded slowly. "There was an issue on the bridge too," he finally said, almost as if he'd forgotten about it before. "Amelia apparently went into labour too....but it subsided..." His eyes took on a haunted look. "If that happens again, I need to be with her, emergency or no emergency. My place is with my mate if that happens."

M'Tara nodded, " I truly agree. I hope I can help out where I can. I do know other medical skills besides research." giving a feline smile. "So hey when I am needed give me a call." making a remark as they stepped into the turbolift.

Giving her a grateful nod, Syvar seemed to relax. "Thank you."

"You are very welcome, Syvar." M'tarra answered, and once the lift doors closed behind the trio, M'tarra gave the lift the command to go to deck 10. When the door opened, M'tarra smiled. "So have either of you found that there are so many different people on this ship? It is so fascinating!"

"Shall we put work to the side and forget about it, even if only for an hour!" Cassy asked wanting to put aside what she and the others had been witness to in sickbay. The screams still haunting her waking dreams. The blond shook her head to clear away the echoes and the cobwebs before looking the room through to find a table.
"There!"

She started to weave her way through the crowd, dodging and ducking as she went almost bumping into a tall and attractive Intel Officer... If she was in a better frame of mind it would be someone she would be hunting down in some form for dinner.

Syvar followed at a quieter pace. "True IDIC, I suppose?" he mused, "but then Starfleet does have a wide variety of species serving on their vessels."

M'tara nodded, "It certainly does, which I really like. Such fascinating races to meet. However like what Cassandra had said, Don't talk about work, though talking about different species would that be considered shop talk?" she paused as they sat down at a table and then the wait staff came over to get their orders, then left. "Well hmnnn, so have either of you gone to a tea shop that is on SB 308? It is so lovely and is run by two sisters. I used to go visit there when I was at the starbase. Its called Whimsy Tea Shop and Gifts. The two ladies who own that shop are lovely and they make the gifts that are in that shop. They even have an area where they make pastries and the like which go quite well with tea."

"I have never been to Starbase 308 if I'm honest. Starbase 1 obviously but my only other station visit or duty was on Cold Station 7... Lovely team but frightening place when you think about it!"

Just the mention of the place sent a shiver down Cassandra's spine.

Syvar shook his head. "I don't think I've ever been to any kind of tea shop," he admitted. He turned his head towards Cassandra. "Why was the station frightening?" he asked curiously.

"There are twelve Cold Stations across the Federation and they hold some of the most deadly viruses, illnesses and artificial biological weapons you could imagine. The idea behind them is to work on cures or treatments. I was there helping survivors of Xenopolycythemia... a particularly nasty virus that seemed to have lasting psychological effects"

A involuntary shiver ran down Cassy's spine at the memories of what she had gone through with some of her patients. Some even having to come to terms with disfigurements but only because it would have taken years for the surgeons to get round to surgery given the sheer number of affected people.

"Mother had taken me to one of those places couple of times, just for research." M'Tara shuddered. "it was rather disturbing. I try not to think of what could happen-" she shook her head and rubbed her arms. "Not a good place to be honest." M'Tara then looked at the other two. "We need to think of something more happier. Um, I've been thinking that maybe we need to sometime go find a place where there is sun and we can relax in it. I would love to feel the sun upon my fur again. Sunbathing is so nice to do, well with in reason of course."

"I've got some programs of home," Syvar offered, "I was raised in Australia... Of course home is near the desert as that was better for me, but we can easily go to one of the beaches... I'm sure it'll let us go to Bondi beach?"

"That sounds lovely, however I am hoping to go on a shore leave where I can feel real sun. Stretch out on a sunny rock." giving a bit of a laugh. The food arrived and M'tara took in a deep breath to catch the scents of the meals. "oh this is smelling divine."

Cassy saw her food and the pan fried fish smelt exceptional and the colours from the ribbon carrots, courgette, spinach and pomegranate seeds made the meal look just as appetising as the smell did. She accepted the plate from the server gratefully and took Syvars and passed it along to him.
"Can I break my own rule?" Cassy asked, unable to hide her excitement any longer. "The Captain asked me to take over as Ships Counsellor!"

"Would help if we knew what your rule was," Syvar chuckled, "and congratulations. Poor Jeremy must be thrilled to finally have a boss again? I heard he's been overwhelmed ever since True left."

"Well congratulations!" M'Tara stated. "I am pleased and well this can be called a celebratory meal as well." giving a toothy grin. "And yes you can break your own rule." giving a laugh, then set to eating her steak, primly cutting it into bites.
